Advocate:

The Best Senior Advocate
Author: Glenn J. Rigdon, September, 2008

Its common sense to realize that the best advocate for a senior citizen is; the senior himself / herself and secondarily a family member with the best interests of the individual (and not the advocate) in mind.  Only when both of those possibilities are exhausted should anyone be looking for a third-party advocate.

The Nevada Division for Aging Services' Advocates for Elders, formerly called the Community Ombudsmen, provide services on a statewide basis.

Clark County has a Senior Advocate Program in place.  The Program is a "partner of the Nevada Care Connection funded through Nevada Division for Aging Services," and it relies on volunteers.

The City of Las Vegas supports a Senior Citizen Law Project.  The program provides "legal advocacy/assistance to person 60 years and older in civil areas of (the) law."  It helps low-income 60+ seniors with wills, advance directives, power of attorney, LTC planning issues, consumer issues and a wide range of civil legal support.

Elder Protective Services investigates crimes against senior citizens.
